What is processed

When a visitor chooses "Use my own invoice", the browser reduces the size of the selected photo and sends it to the demo's server. The server sends the photo to Anthropic, PBC, whose Claude model reads the text on the invoice and returns the vendor name, invoice number, date, line items and totals. The server then checks the arithmetic and sends the results back to the browser.

What is stored

The demo does not store uploaded photos or the results read from them. The photo exists only in the server's memory for the length of the request, and it is not written to a database, file or log. Results are shown in the visitor's browser and disappear when the page is closed or refreshed.

To limit cost, the demo keeps two counters for each day: the total number of uploads, and the number of uploads from each network. The network count is keyed by a one-way hash of the visitor's IP address combined with the date, not by the address itself. These counters contain no image or invoice data.

The sample invoices are made-up documents. Choosing "Try a sample invoice" sends nothing to the server and plays back a saved result.

Anthropic

Anthropic processes the photo to read it, under its commercial terms for API customers. Under those terms, Anthropic does not use API inputs or outputs to train its models. Anthropic may retain API inputs and outputs for a limited period for safety and abuse monitoring. Details are in Anthropic's privacy policy at anthropic.com/legal/privacy.

Hosting

The site is hosted by Netlify and served through Cloudflare. Like any web host, they process standard request information such as IP addresses to deliver the page.

No tracking

The demo uses no cookies, no analytics and no advertising scripts. Fonts are served from this site.
